1. Who We Are
GTA6ERA is an unofficial fan site dedicated to counting down to the release of Grand Theft Auto VI. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive in any way.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this site, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
2. Data We Collect
From every visitor, automatically: We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. This collects standard analytics data such as pages viewed, time on site, approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, and referring website. This happens whether or not you sign in or comment. See Section 4 for details on Google Analytics.
Beyond analytics, we only collect additional data when you choose to sign in and leave a comment.
When you sign in with Google or Facebook:
- Your display name
- Your profile photo URL
- Your unique user ID (provided by Google or Facebook)
- Your email address (stored securely by Firebase, not displayed publicly)
When you post a comment or reply:
- The text of your comment or reply (max 500 / 300 characters)
- Your display name and profile photo (shown publicly next to your comment)
- Timestamp of when the comment was posted
- Like count (updated when other users like your comment)
3. How We Use Your Data
- To display your name and photo next to comments you post
- To allow other users to like and reply to your comments
- To prevent spam and enforce comment limits
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose. We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
This site uses the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Google Analytics — Measures site traffic and usage (pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type). Uses cookies to distinguish visitors. See how Google uses data.
- Firebase (Google LLC) — Authentication and Firestore database. See Firebase Privacy.
- Google Sign-In — OAuth login. See Google Privacy Policy.
- Facebook Login (Meta) — OAuth login. See Meta Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts — Fonts loaded from Google's servers (your IP address may be logged by Google).
- rss2json.com — Used to fetch news feeds (no personal data is sent).
5. Cookies & Local Storage
This site uses two types of cookies:
- Functional — Firebase Authentication uses cookies and local storage to keep you signed in between sessions.
- Analytics — Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and measure site usage. These do not identify you personally.
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies at this time. If that changes (for example, if we add display advertising), we will update this policy.
You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Clearing functional cookies will sign you out.
6. Data Retention
Comments and user data are stored in Firebase Firestore for as long as the site is active. If you delete your account or request removal of your data, we will delete your comments and account information from our database within 30 days.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Withdraw consent at any time by signing out and stopping use of the site

8. Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
