The GTA 6 Miami Vice City campaign has spread well beyond a basketball game. In the past week, fans and outlets have documented Vice City branding across Miami, in-universe restaurants inside an NBA arena, and federal label approvals for beers named after GTA’s fictional brands. With 24 days left on our GTA 6 countdown timer, here is what is officially confirmed, what has simply been seen, and what nobody has announced.
What Is Officially Confirmed in the Miami Campaign
The officially announced piece is the one we covered in our Miami Heat crossover report. The Heat announced on October 2 that they will play as “Vice City” on November 18 at 7 PM ET at Kaseya Center, on a custom court and in a reimagined uniform, with the game carried nationally on ESPN. GTA 6 launches the next day, November 19.
That announcement came from the team. Everything below comes from reporting and observation.
What Has Been Spotted Around Miami
On October 22, VGC’s Andy Robinson published a roundup of the campaign as it appeared on the ground. Dexerto and Beebom ran their own reports the same day. The items they describe include:
- In-universe brands in public. Ads for Weazel News, the Chamber 106.6 radio station, Fruit, Coil, eCola, Y Hotel, Vault Nightclub and Big Chug on buses, taxis and digital displays.
- Miami Beach. Pink and blue Vice City umbrellas and loungers, a blimp, and boats carrying digital billboards for the fictional Vault Nightclub.
- Cars. A Corvette-based “Coquette” in Vice City livery and a Lamborghini in Vice Beach Police colors, both reported driving around the city.
- The arena. The “Welcome to Vice City” sign on Kaseya Center, which our earlier report dated to October 1, plus themed merchandise on sale.
Burger Shot and Cluckin’ Bell inside Kaseya Center
The detail that spread fastest online is food. According to Dexerto, a Burger Shot stand has replaced a Skinny Louie’s stand at Kaseya Center, with branded packaging and staff in custom uniforms. A Cluckin’ Bell stand was spotted in the same arena. Dexerto reports that fans say real food is being served, and one fan quoted a meal at more than $37.
It is not yet clear how long the stands will stay, and Dexerto’s report cites no statement from Rockstar. The link to GTA 6 is the outlets’ reading of the branding, which is a reasonable one, but it is still a reading.
The Vice City Beers: What the Label Approvals Show
The most unusual item is not on the street at all. Dexerto reported on October 20, and PC Gamer on October 21, that three beer labels tied to GTA 6 appear in the US Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) database:
- Pißwasser, a fictional GTA beer brand, listed as a 4.2% ABV pilsner by PC Gamer.
- Patriot, another in-game brand, listed at 4.2% ABV.
- No Mames Vice City, a 6% ABV lager whose label carries GTA VI branding, per Dexerto.
Dexerto names Florida’s Tripping Animals Brewing, based in Doral near Miami, as the applicant. PC Gamer says it linked the labels to the brewery based on imagery and branding. VGC reports that Tripping Animals reportedly submitted the labels and that a filing suggests the beers will go on sale.
Why the approval dates differ
Dexerto lists Pißwasser as approved on September 29, No Mames Vice City on October 9 and Patriot on October 15. PC Gamer lists No Mames Vice City on October 9 and both Pißwasser and Patriot on October 15. We have not seen the database entries ourselves, so we show the discrepancy rather than pick one.
Both outlets are careful on the key point: a label approval is not a product announcement. Neither Rockstar nor the brewery has announced a collaboration, and there is no confirmed release date, price or distribution plan.
Why the GTA 6 Miami Vice City Push Matters
Rockstar’s earlier marketing stayed mostly on its own channels and with large media partners, such as the Netflix Extended Look. This phase puts the setting itself in front of ordinary people in the real city that inspired it, in the final weeks before launch.
It also changes the local picture. In September, county officials publicly objected to a proposed marketing deal, which we covered in our Miami-Dade backlash report. Whether any of the installations seen this month relate to that deal has not been confirmed, so we are not linking them.
What Is Still Unconfirmed
- Whether Rockstar will formally announce the street campaign, the food stands or the beers.
- Whether the beers will be sold, and if so where. Tripping Animals’ distribution appears limited to the Miami area, according to PC Gamer.
- How long the Kaseya Center stands and city installations will remain.
- A reported film crew shooting a possible promo with the Vice City cars. VGC describes this as a sighting, not an announcement.
- Campaign costs and any city permit arrangements. We found no reliable primary source for either, so we are leaving them out.
What to Watch Before Launch
Three dates are worth keeping in view. Take-Two’s second-quarter earnings call is scheduled for November 9, per GTA BOOM and Beebom, ten days before launch. Pre-load opens November 12, as covered in our pre-load date report. The Heat game follows on November 18. If you have not locked in your copy, our pre-order guide compares the editions, and our Rockstar news section tracks official announcements as they land.
The Bottom Line
The GTA 6 Miami Vice City story has one confirmed event and a lot of well-photographed evidence around it. That is enough to say Miami is being dressed as Vice City. It is not enough to say how far Rockstar’s plans go or what the beers will become. We will update this page if Rockstar, the Heat or Tripping Animals Brewing confirm any of it.
