Rockstar has opened the GTA 6 launch gallery, a fresh batch of official screenshots released two weeks before the November 19 launch. The Newswire post, published November 5, says Grand Theft Auto VI is “now officially only two weeks away” and invites fans to take “a stunning look at Vice City and beyond.” PC Gamer counted 39 images.
Screenshots are never the whole story, so this report covers what the gallery actually shows, what it leaves out and what else is scheduled before the game unlocks.
- What: a “Launch Gallery” of new screenshots on Rockstar’s official GTA VI website, announced on Newswire on November 5.
- How many: 39 images according to PC Gamer; VGC headlined it “nearly 40.”
- What kind: mostly cinematic scenes, which VGC says reveal little about gameplay.
- Launch: November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC date has been announced.
- Rockstar’s sign-off: “See you in Leonida on November 19,” per Inven Global’s report of Rockstar’s X post.
What Rockstar Released in the GTA 6 Launch Gallery
The gallery is a scrolling collection on the official GTA VI site, according to Inven Global, which also notes that Rockstar’s Media & Artwork section offers downloadable official videos and screenshots. PC Gamer says the 39 images are split across several galleries.
Counts differ slightly by outlet. VGC’s headline says “nearly 40,” and Inven Global does not give a number. We could not open Rockstar’s own page in full, so the figures here come from those reports. The best way to see everything is Rockstar’s official Newswire post, which links to the gallery.
What the New GTA 6 Screenshots Show
The descriptions below come from PC Gamer, VGC and Inven Global, not from Rockstar captions.
Jason and Lucia in Combat
Jason and Lucia appear armed in several shots, with serious expressions, according to PC Gamer. Inven Global’s lead image, credited to Rockstar, shows the pair in a top-down convertible, both holding handguns, with neon reflecting off the windscreen.
PC Gamer also describes a tactically geared Jason stepping off a military aircraft into a firefight. A dog wearing combat gear is visible in the background. Rockstar has not said what that dog is.
Nightlife and Florida Characters
Dance clubs, dockside dive bars and heavy drinkers feature heavily, per PC Gamer. The supporting cast looks distinctly local:
- A scarred man with different-coloured eyes standing beside two dead reptiles.
- A mullet-wearing man menacing Jason with a knife.
- Police officers in moustaches and aviator sunglasses.
PC Gamer also singles out the skin detail, praising the “pore fidelity” of the character models.
Set Pieces and Wildlife
Beyond the cast, the gallery includes police raids, high-speed chases, hazy meadow sunsets, scuba diving and an alligator, according to PC Gamer. That lines up with what Rockstar’s designers discussed about weather, wildlife and Florida research in the Game Informer cover story. If you want earlier official stills for comparison, our LOVE Magazine screenshot report covers the four Jason and Lucia images from early October.
What the Launch Gallery Does Not Tell Us
VGC describes the images as mostly cinematic, saying they reveal little about gameplay. That is worth keeping in mind before reading too much into any single frame.
- The screenshots do not confirm mission structure, story details or new systems.
- They do not show a PC version. Rockstar has announced no PC release date, and VGC says only that a port is expected “some time later.”
- None of the reports we reviewed say which hardware captured the images. Our launch trailer report covers the footage Rockstar said was captured on PS5.
The Final 12 Days Before the GTA 6 Launch
The gallery opens a busy stretch. Here is what is scheduled, with the status of each item:
- November 9: Take-Two reports fiscal Q2 results after the market closes, with its call at 4:30 p.m. ET, according to GameSpot via Yahoo Finance. Full-year net bookings guidance stands at $8.0 billion to $8.2 billion, and management did not raise it at its last report, citing cancellable pre-orders and no units shipped yet, per Earnings Whispers. Our August earnings recap has the earlier context.
- November 10: digital preload opens, with up to 212GB required. Rockstar confirmed this on November 3, and our preload report has the PS5 and Xbox times.
- November 12: boxed code copies reach retailers. Reporting from October 27 also says Rockstar staff begin voting on union recognition that day, a window running to November 26. Rockstar has not announced it, so treat it as reported.
- November 18: the Miami Heat’s “A Night in Vice City” game, announced in early October. See our Heat event report.
- November 19: launch at midnight local time. Track it on our GTA 6 countdown timer.
Pre-Order Demand Keeps Climbing, According to Sensor Tower
The gallery landed one day after Dexerto reported new Sensor Tower estimates: about 7.71 million digital pre-orders worth roughly $751 million on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Dexerto breaks that into about 5.74 million PlayStation copies (74%, around $559 million) and 1.97 million Xbox copies (26%, around $192 million), and says more than $100 million was added in the past two weeks.
Those figures are estimates, not Rockstar or Take-Two sales data, and they cover digital pre-orders only. Dexerto does not state the date range or whether the data is US-only or worldwide. That matters when comparing them with the 6.08 million estimate we covered in October, which was a snapshot dated October 13. The two numbers are not strictly like-for-like.
If you are still deciding how to buy, our pre-order guide explains the editions, and the pre-order section on our homepage lists current options.
Why the GTA 6 Launch Gallery Matters
The gallery is a marketing beat rather than a news dump, but it still tells fans something. Rockstar chose to show nightlife, police action, wildlife and a rogues’ gallery of local characters, echoing the themes in its recent magazine interviews. It also keeps the launch date unchanged, with Rockstar’s own sign-off pointing at November 19.
For anyone avoiding spoilers, the gallery shows scenes and characters rather than story events. Between now and launch, the scheduled milestones are the earnings call, the preload and the day-one release.
The Bottom Line on the GTA 6 Launch Gallery
The GTA 6 launch gallery is the latest official look at Vice City before release: roughly 39 screenshots, mostly cinematic, with Jason and Lucia armed and a very Floridian supporting cast. It adds atmosphere rather than gameplay answers. Watch our Rockstar news section for anything Rockstar adds before November 19, and our release date guide for the full confirmed list.
